ADEA Terms and Conditions for Publications Orders
All available rates are described on order forms. No other discounts are available.
For shipping of five or fewer items to individuals, institutions, or bookstores, ADEA charges a flat rate. Please include the shipping charge with your prepayment. If you are ordering more than five items or have questions, please contact customer service. Shipping override does not apply.
ADEA ships the business day after your order is received. "Next-Day Air" and "Second-Day Air" refer to shipping methods, not delivery guarantees. ADEA is not responsible for weather delays, delivery company failures, or similar situations. Ground and U.S.P.S. deliveries to most areas of the United States will arrive within five to ten business days.
- Ground delivery within continental United States $10
- U.S.P.S. delivery to U.S. post office boxes, territories, military addresses, Alaska, or Hawaii $12
- Air delivery within continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico:
- Next-Day Air $37
- Second-Day Air $22
- Delivery to Canada, Mexico, and other countries $37
If you are paying by credit card, ADEA will add the shipping cost to your charge. If you are paying by check and don't include the shipping cost, ADEA will invoice you by mail, separately from your shipment.
ADEA requires prepayment in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank in the form of a check or a charge to American Express, Mastercard, Discover, or Visa. International money orders are also accepted. Multiple orders require separate checks. Upon request, ADEA will provide a pro forma invoice for prepayment.
Purchase orders or standing orders: ADEA does not accept these.
Note to subscription agencies and their customers: Changes in tiers are not accepted once payment is processed.
Claims for missing shipments:
For publications, you must claim a missing shipment within 60 days of placing an order.
For subscriptions, a subscriber must claim a missing issue within six months of its publication. If you claim a back issue that is out of stock, ADEA is not liable for any refund. Older back issues can be purchased; limited quantities are available. Questions? Contact email@example.com or 202-289-7201.
ADEA wants you to be satisfied with your purchases. Any refund due to an ADEA error will be processed expeditiously. Defective or damaged materials will be replaced free of charge if claimed within six months of order or publication date.
You may cancel or return any publications order within 30 days of the order date. ADEA will refund the cost of the publication, but not the original shipping cost or your shipping cost for the return.
You may cancel a subscription within 60 days of your order date, and ADEA will refund the cost of all unmailed issues.
ADEA issues refunds by the same method used for payment (check for a check payment, credit card for credit card purchase).
