The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the third largest public dental school in the United States and consists of eight academic units representing all major dental specialties. The sections offer both patient care services and academic programs, allowing dentists to train as specialists. Our Outreach and Engagement activities include over 60 active programs and more than 42 extra mural sites, which continue to expand. The College of Dentistry provides comprehensive patient care in an unparalleled learning environment with internationally recognized faculty and a supportive network of alumni and friends. In addition, our research programs provide students another dimension beyond classroom and clinical education. Students and faculty members are able to participate in both clinical and laboratory research in areas such as dental materials science, oral and maxillofacial pathology, hard tissue biology, microbiology, neuroscience, and immunology.

Founded in 1865 and located in the heart of New York City, NYU College of Dentistry offers training annually to over 1,600 students from all over the U.S. and nearly 50 countries. In addition to dental hygiene and nursing programs, the College also offers M.S. programs in biology/oral biology, clinical research and biomaterials, and a Ph.D. program in epidemiology in collaboration with Columbia, Johns Hopkins, and Yale Universities. NYUCD’s 4-year DDS curriculum involves a cross-disciplinary integrated education which emphasizes prevention and health promotion, lifelong learning, critical thinking, and the value of critical evaluation of the literature. The College houses sophisticated, state-of-the-art clinical facilities, and offers the largest and most diversified patient pool of any dental school in the nation. The faculty is committed to teaching and research. Teachers who are also clinicians partner with students to enable them to reach their academic and professional goals. In addition to educating health professionals, NYUCD endeavors to improve the health of the highly diverse populations in New York City and around the world through outreach and patient visits, of which there were some 350,000 this past year.

ATSU’s Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (MOSDOH) is modeled on the University’s highly acclaimed Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, Arizona’s first dental school. Launched in 2003, it has a curriculum emphasizing community service and public health. Its goal is to graduate dentists who have an in-depth understanding of and a desire to serve populations in need. Field experience in community health settings in Arizona and elsewhere in the country are an integral part of the curriculum.
