Dental Hygiene Instructor, Full-Time Faculty

Lakeland Community College is seeking applicants for a Dental Hygiene Instructor, Full-Time Faculty. Faculty responsibilities (representative) include the following:

INSTRUCTION

  • Teach didactic courses within the dental hygiene curriculum, including but not limited to Dental Materials and Community Dental Health.
  • Coordinate and supervise student community experiences with various outside agencies.
  • Teach first and second year dental hygiene clinical courses.
  • Serve as program infection control coordinator for first and second year students.
  • Maintain a minimum of ten (10) posted office hours per week on campus.
  • Maintain accurate records of student grades and communicate on a timely basis to the appropriate institutional office.

COURSE AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

  • Recommend to the division dean the revision, deletion or addition of courses or curricula.
  • Evaluate and recommend catalog and support material revisions.
  • Maintain updated course outlines according to prescribed college procedures; develop course syllabus.

SERVICE TO THE COLLEGE, PROFESSION AND COMMUNITY

  • Remain current with the field(s) of assigned instruction and related occupational areas.
  • Acquire, maintain and apply knowledge of current instructional methodologies and materials.
  • Participate in accreditation processes and college, division and department committees and meetings.   

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene, allied health, or related area.
  • Licensure to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Ohio.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability/experience.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in dental hygiene, allied health, education, or related area.
  • Experience teaching Dental Materials and Community Dental Health.
  •  Experience with CDC guidelines, OSHA standards, and other aspects of dental infection control.
