Chairperson, Department of Pediatric Dentistry

West Virginia University School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full-time, 12-month clinical or tenure-track faculty position as the Chairperson of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.  Responsibilities will include oversight of didactic and clinical teaching in both pre-doctoral and postdoctoral programs, patient care including in the hospital and operating room patient care, high quality scholarly activity, and service to the University, the community, and the School of Dentistry.  Candidates must demonstrate effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, leadership skills, and strong commitment to diversity and social justice.  The chair will work closely with the Executive Vice President for WVU’s Children’s Hospital and West Virginia’s United Health System’s Executive Director for Children’s Health to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients in the State and surrounding areas. 

Candidates must have a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school or foreign equivalent, must be eligible for a West Virginia dental license  and have experience in pediatric dentistry.  Preference will be given to candidates that are board certified or board eligible in pediatric dentistry are qualified to develop and direct a post-graduate program in Pediatric Dentistry and/or are eligible for an oral conscious sedation permit.  The Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health are part of the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Campus located in the historic community of Morgantown, West Virginia. Located only 80 miles south of Pittsburgh, Morgantown is easily accessible to major metropolitan areas in the East and Midwest.  It has been named one of the best small cities in the U.S.
