Faculty Position, Dental Hygiene

Pacific University invites applications for a full-time faculty position to start August 2018 in their School of Dental Hygiene Studies. The School of Dental Hygiene Studies is part of a College of Health Professions that also includes professional programs in audiology, healthcare administration & leadership, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies and graduate psychology. 

The School of Dental Hygiene Studies is located on Pacific University’s Hillsboro Campus approximately 20 miles west of Portland, Oregon. The School of Dental Hygiene Studies offers a BS degree entry-level dental hygiene program. The dental hygiene program focuses on access to care for underserved patients and provides students with extensive clinical enrichment experiences in a variety of community-based settings. 

Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program and licensed or eligible for dental hygiene licensure in Oregon. Preferred qualifications include master’s degree in dental hygiene or related field; teaching experience in dental hygiene or higher education; current clinical dental hygiene skills; clinical experience with local anesthesia, nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation, restorative procedures; and experience working with patients who have limited access to dental care. 

Responsibilities include teaching didactic, laboratory and clinical dental hygiene courses; student advising; scholarly activity; university and community service; and professional association activities.
