Oregon Tech invites applications for a
Faculty Dentist position within the Department of Dental Hygiene on the Klamath
Falls, Oregon campus. This is a 12-month faculty, full-time position which consists
of 75 percent patient care activities, and 25 percent instructional and
departmental duties. This position reports directly to the Department Chair.

The primary responsibilities of the Faculty
Dentist include performing dental services for Oregon Tech patients according
to the scope of practice for a Dentist licensed in Oregon, serving as the University’s
Dental Director overseeing care of dental patients, and managing contracts with
coordinated care organizations. The Dentist is also responsible for reviewing
patient radiographs for clinic patients, and participating in interpretation
activities with students, performing patient exams, consulting, and participating
as a clinic instructor during clinic sessions.
The Dentist is a member of the faculty and
functions within the philosophy of the Dental Hygiene Program. The incumbent
also supervises restorative clinics under the direction of the Restorative lead
instructor, consults with other dental hygiene faculty on curriculum, and
provides didactic and clinical teaching within the dental hygiene curriculum,
modifies course curriculum to promote professional development, and performs
other student support activities and other assigned duties as needed.
- Hold a current Oregon State Dental License or receive
one within three months of employment if licensed in another state.
- Current CPR/BLS as required by state licensure.
- Possess ability to perform all duties and rights as
mandated for a dentist by the Oregon Dental Practice Act.
- Possess or be eligible to obtain personal malpractice
- Prior teaching experience in a dental hygiene program.
- Experience with managed care and diverse populations.
- Hold an Oregon Class 1 permit for conscious sedation.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
