Assistant or Associate Professor, Division of Restorative Science
and Prosthodontics (Two positions)

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry

The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University is seeking applications for two full-time clinical and/or tenure track faculty positions at the rank of assistant/associate professor in the Division of Restorative Science and Prosthodontics. The primary responsibility for these positions will be didactic and clinical instruction in the predoctoral fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics curricula, with additional academic opportunities in advanced education program of the division. Other duties include supporting the overall mission of the division, participating in university and college governance, contributing to the college’s continuing education programs, and practicing in the college’s affiliated intramural Dental Faculty Practice.

The college is in the process of replacing its pre-doctoral classrooms, simulation clinic, and patient care facilities. Each will be equipped with the latest in digital technologies that enhance student learning, improve efficiencies of operation, and facilitate patient care. Eight small group practice clinics that focus on comprehensive care will provide an optimal environment for dental and dental hygiene students to work in an integrated model for delivering health care.

Candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent degree and a certificate of advanced education in prosthodontics from a CODA-accredited institution. They also must be eligible for a regular or limited teaching license by the Ohio State Dental Board. Information on state dental licensure is available online. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the application of advanced digital technology in dental education and an MS, PhD, EdD, or other advanced degree.  Board certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics is desirable. A tenure track appointment requires candidates to demonstrate a record of research, scholarly works, and teaching excellence.

Only electronic applications will be accepted.  Evaluation of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications. Candidates should submit a personal statement that delineates professional qualifications and career goals, along with curriculum vitae and three professional references to Lisa Lang, DDS, MS, MBA, Interim Chair of Restorative Science and Prosthodontics at osudentistryrecruitment@osu.edu.
