ROLE of the
The School of
Dental Medicine at UNLV invites applications for a full-time, 12-month,
tenure/tenure track/non tenured faculty position for the Associate or Full
Professor level for Chair of the Department of Clinical Sciences available
January 1, 2017. Responsibilities
include manage the academic needs of the General Dentistry and Specialty
programs. The Chair will be involved in
the establishment and maintenance of curriculum excellence and development of
consistent clinical philosophy; calibration of faculty; competency assessments;
evaluation and reporting of student progress; and overall management of the
clinical divisions. The Chair will work
closely with the Dean to insure consistent management of associated clinical
personnel. The Chair will provide
regular reports to the Dean including outcome assessments and related
accreditation documents. The Chair will
be available to serve on strategic committees, both dental school and

degree from an accredited college or university and be eligible for
licensure/limited licensure in Nevada.
Candidates must have training, expertise, and 5 to 7 years’ experience
in full time academics at a dental school or equivalent institution. Candidate must also have experience in the
area of Administration.
Required: 5 to 7
years of experience in full time academics at a dental school or equivalent
competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
