Chairperson, Department of Endodontics

West Virginia University School of Dentistry

West Virginia University School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full-time, twelve-month clinical or tenure track faculty position as the Chairperson of the Department of Endodontics.

Responsibilities of the position include departmental leadership and management, faculty development, quality improvement, innovation, and oversight of the department's educational, research and service activities. The Department of Endodontic Dentistry currently includes pre-doctoral and postdoctoral students. The Chair is expected to participate in the departmental teaching, research and patient care activities of postgraduate endodontic residents and predoctoral students, and to serve as a professional role model for faculty, staff and students.

Candidate is expected to participate in intramural dental faculty practice. Candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree from an accredited US or Canadian Dental School or a foreign equivalent and be eligible for a West Virginia dental license. Advanced training in Endodontics is required and candidate must be Board eligible or Board certified. The successful candidate must document a strong record of teaching, scholarly activity with publications, administrative experience and leadership in an academic setting, and will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must demonstrate effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; leadership skills; and a strong commitment to diversity and social justice.

West Virginia University School of Dentistry is located in the historic community of Morgantown, West Virginia.  Located only 80 miles south of Pittsburgh, Morgantown is easily accessible to major metropolitan areas in the East and Midwest. The School of Dentistry is one of 14 colleges in a major, land-grant research University and is part of a comprehensive Health Sciences center which includes Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health, the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and West Virginia University Hospitals.
