The University of Texas School
of Dentistry at Houston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure or clinical
educator track position in the Department of General Practice and Dental Public
Health at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Applicants must have a
DDS/DMD degree, or foreign equivalent, and prior teaching and/or private
practice experience, and be eligible for dental licensure or faculty dental
licensure in the state of Texas. Advanced training at an accredited AEGD or GPR
Program is preferred.
Responsibilities include pre-clinical
and clinical teaching to undergraduate dental students, research and service. Some
clinical teaching is done with mobile units or on a dental van out of town; one
of these positions may include periodic overnight stays. A demonstrated record
of teaching experience, successful research, and/or involvement in leadership
in dentistry at the local or national level is desired. An opportunity for
intramural practice is available, and candidates are encouraged to participate.
The position is available August
1, 2014. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and
experience. The School of Dentistry is located within the Texas Medical Center
which offers significant resources and important opportunities for
collaboration and advanced training. The School of Dentistry is one of six
schools in the most comprehensive health science center in Texas.
