Getting Ready for the Future

As the environment for dental education, health care and higher education continues to change at an increasingly fast pace, the concept of being “future-ready” is an increasingly important priority for all organizations. Advances in technology are contributing to a revolution in both health care and education, and new models of higher education have begun to emerge. During the 2016 ADEA Deans’ Conference, we will study the “mega-trends” impacting dental education. We will explore the potential impact of technology on the delivery of dental care and on health professions education, learn about the experiences of institutions that have adopted value-based care and learner-centered competency-based curricula, gain lessons learned from schools that have designed their new facilities to support their interprofessional missions, and much more.
