The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the $8.4 billion agency charged with improving access to health care for the uninsured and medically vulnerable, plans to consolidate two of its bureaus into a newly created one. HRSA is planning to integrate programs from the Bureau of Health Professions and the Bureau of Clinical Recruitment and Services into a new entity, the Bureau of Health Workforce.

The new bureau will help HRSA, which is part of the Department of Health and Human Services, to better achieve its mission of improving health and health equity through access to quality services, a skilled health workforce and innovative programs.
