Dr. Eugene L. Anderson, ADEA Chief Policy Officer and Managing Vice President

Last October, those of us who gathered in Oklahoma City for the 2013 ADEA Fall Meetings had a rare opportunity to spend three days exploring ways of integrating technology in teaching and learning. In this issue of the ADEA CCI Liaison Ledger, we share some of the discussion that occurred at that event and showcase two exemplary projects that illustrate how educators can harness eLearning technologies.

We invited Dr. Elise Eisenberg of the New York University College of Dentistry to capture some of the thoughts on eLearning she presented in Oklahoma and share them with you in our Guest Commentary. Our Campus Spotlight features the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where faculty members are engaged in creating virtual patients. Finally, our Educator Spotlight profiles Dr. John Featherstone, the first dental educator to venture into the newly charted territory of massive open online courses (MOOCs). I hope these eLearning pioneers will inspire many of you to consider using new technologies to enhance teaching and learning at your institutions.

We would like to hear how your campus is using technological innovations to advance education. Please use the comment feature at the bottom of each blog post to continue the conversation with other ADEA CCI Liaisons.
