Reps. Diana DeGette (D-CO) and Michael Burgess (R-TX) sent a letter to the House Committee on Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations Subcommittee, urging them to appropriate $280 million for Health Resources and Services Administration’s Title VII health profession programs in FY 2014. A total of 75 members joined in endorsing the letter.

Rep. DeGette stated, “[Title VII programs] are the only federal programs designed to train providers in interdisciplinary settings to respond to the needs of special and underserved populations, as well as increase minority representation in the health care workforce.”

ADEA staff is on the Hill almost daily visiting with members and staff regarding the need to adequately fund Title VII programs.
