The Chair of the ADEA Board of
Directors, R. Lamont (Monty) MacNeil, D.D.S., M.D.S., declared 2018 as “The
Year of the ADEA Chapter.” In response, the ADEA Council of Students, Residents
and Fellows (ADEA COSRF) Administrative Board and District Commissioners
gathered on May 16 at ADEA Headquarters for the annual ADEA COSRF Leadership
Orientation discuss opportunities for ADEA Chapter expansion.
Focusing efforts on growing
ADEA Chapters and promoting careers in dental education, the ADEA COSRF
Leadership Team created a new COSRF Communication Plan to extend information to
ADEA Chapters, developed goals and objectives for ADEA Chapter expansion within
the 11 districts, brainstormed the growth of ADEA Curriculum Hack-A-Thons, and
strategized ways to increase the number of Canadian dental school and allied
dental program students who participate in ADEA COSRF.
Chaired by Natalie Lorenzano,
a student at Indiana University School of Dentistry, ADEA COSRF is comprised of
students representing any of the predoctoral dental programs, advanced dental
educational programs, dental hygiene educational programs, dental therapy
educational programs, dental assisting educational programs, and dental
laboratory technology educational programs at ADEA member institutions.
