Online Professional Development for Allied Dental Educators: ADEA LEADE

Expand your leadership skills and pave the way for leadership opportunities! Apply today for the American Dental Education Association’s Leadership Essentials for Allied Dental Educators (ADEA LEADE)—an eight-week, highly interactive online course beginning this fall.

Facilitated by allied dental education leaders, ADEA LEADE will take place completely online through self-paced and scheduled weekly activities from Sept. 10 – Nov. 9, 2018.

Dental hygiene, dental assisting and dental laboratory technology faculty members who have worked in academics for a minimum of two years and who are current ADEA members are eligible to apply. Key learning outcomes include: 

  • Secure a mentor and develop a productive working relationship.
  • Develop a blueprint of future short- and long-term goals via mind mapping.
  • Review self-assessment inventories to formulate a personal leadership style.
  • Construct a personal mission.
  • Prepare an updated curriculum vitae.
  • Modify stress levels through work-life integration.
  • Develop conflict management skills.
