HRSA to Fund States Supporting Oral Health Workforce Activities

In an effort to expand the oral health workforce and reduce the number of Dental Health Professional Shortage Areas (D-HPSAs) across the United States, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Health Workforce asks state government entities to apply to HRSA-18-014: Grants to States to Support Oral Health Workforce Activities

There are over 5,800 D-HPSAs in the United States, prompting HRSA to increase the capacity of state health authorities to create novel and innovative programs aimed at addressing the dental workforce needs and increasing oral health services for underserved populations. Populations residing in D-HPSAS are vulnerable to dental and oral health disparities, including increased dental caries, periodontal disease and poor access to dental care.

Eligible applicants for this funding opportunity include Governor-appointed and state government entities only. All 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories are eligible to apply.

Applications will be accepted until March 12, 2018. Submit your completed documents and materials on Grants.gov. Learn more on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time during a special HRSA conference call.
