Together, ADEA's ExploreHealthCareers.org and AfterCollege now provide ExploreHealthCareers.org visitors with exclusive opportunities from the AfterCollege network. Users can now find job content in nursing, informatics, physical therapy, occupational therapy, dentistry, pharmacy, and speech, language, and hearing. This new resource augments ExploreHealthCareers.org's extensive portfolio of educational and career resources.
AfterCollege will also incorporate content by ADEA's ExploreHealthCareers.org about the seven health career fields into its job channel platforms. Additionally, employers can post job opportunities directly to the AfterCollege career networks through ExploreHealthCareers.org. Posting proceeds will support the ExploreHealthCareers.org mission of helping to solve two urgent problems in American health care: the underrepresentation of minorities in the workforce and the lack of health professionals in medically underserved communities.
"AfterCollege understands and supports ExploreHealthCareers.org's mission," said Michael Fernald, Director of University Relations at AfterCollege. "This partnership is ideal, as it expands access to job, career, financial aid, and specialized learning opportunities for students pursuing important health care careers. Together we hope to help build a stronger and more diverse health care workforce."
"ADEA's ExploreHealthCareers.org is pleased to bring new services to its users. Now users can see opportunities for entry-level to professional positions alongside other information about their field of interest. This will support our efforts to increase the number of underrepresented minority and low-income students pursuing jobs in the health professions," said Henryne G. Tobias, ADEA Project Director for ExploreHealthCareers.org.
ADEA creates ExploreHealthCareers.org content in collaboration with members of the Federation of Associations of Schools of the Health Professions (FASHP) and other authoritative organizations. Together, these groups represent the vast majority of all the health professions schools and programs in the nation. ExploreHealthCareers.org is a free, multidisciplinary, interactive health careers website designed to explain the array of health professions and provide easy access to students seeking information about health careers. It is a joint initiative involving national foundations, professional associations, health career advisors, educational institutions, and college students.
