The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, the Delta Dental Plans Association and the Institute for Oral Health are joining forces to bring together top researchers and clinicians for a day of interactive learning and stimulating discussion of current areas of dental science and practice. This meeting will allow participants to learn, share thoughts and take home knowledge of how new and exciting developments in science and technology are improving oral health.
Highlights of Science and Dentistry in Action: Leading the Way Towards Better Health include:
- Discuss and explore the scientific rationale/underpinnings of clinical issues commonly encountered in dental practice.
- Identify dental preventive, diagnostic or treatment modalities for which better evidence and clinical decision tools could be developed.
- Identify areas requiring more in-depth basic research.
- Discuss emerging new tools and technologies with the potential to improve dental practice and patient outcomes.
The meeting takes place in Bethesda, MD. A welcome reception will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. The sessions and panels will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2013, and the day begins with breakfast at 7:00 a.m.
