Registration is now open for the third annual Undergraduate Education for Public Health Summit on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Boston Marriott Copley Place in Boston, MA. The summit is held in conjunction with the 2013 Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) Annual Meeting and is co-sponsored by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U).
This year’s theme is Faculty Development: Responding to Trends in Undergraduate Public Health Education. New to this year’s summit, participants will have the opportunity to choose their morning and afternoon tracks, which include breakout sessions focusing on current and emerging undergraduate public health education efforts. The plenary sessions will address the continuum of public health education, new opportunities for undergraduate public health and learning students’ perspective on undergraduate education for public health. A poster and networking session will take place from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
An awards luncheon featured at this year’s summit will honor this year’s winner of the Riegelman Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Public Health Education, an award that supports faculty at Council on Education for Public Health-accredited schools and programs of public health who have demonstrated exemplary efforts to start a new public health program, have collaborated with community partners and other disciplines and have garnered respect and enthusiasm from students.
Participants can register until September 13 for the early bird discount. ASPPH encourages academicians, students and professionals involved and/or interested in undergraduate education in public health to attend this event.
