ADEA is proud to announce a new collaboration with Western University of Health Sciences and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy to bring teaching excellence and scholarship-development resources to health profession educators.
The Education Scholar Program offers a comprehensive online curriculum to help health professions instructors expand their knowledge and skills. Module concepts are presented through a combination of on-screen text, images, and audio clips. Examples, case studies, and demonstrations from the health professions illustrate key points. The Education Scholar Program comprises six self-paced modules:
Module 1 Developing a Personal Working Philosophy to Guide Teaching/Learning in Health Professions Education
Module 2 Facilitating Learning in a Traditional Classroom Setting
Module 3 Improving Outcomes Through the Use of Active Learning Strategies (soliciting author to revise)
Module 4A Distance Learning (development in progress)
Module 4B Case-Based Learning (development in progress)
Module 4C Learning in Experiential Settings (development in progress)
Module 5 Assessment of Instructional Effectiveness (soliciting author to revise)
Module 6 Promoting Teaching and Learning Excellence (soliciting author to revise)
ADEA is currently soliciting subject matter experts to help review and revise three of the online curriculum modules:
Module 3 Improving Outcomes Through the Use of Active Learning Strategies
Module 5 Assessment of Instructional Effectiveness
Module 6 Promoting Teaching and Learning Excellence
