Proceedings of the Fourth ADEA International Women’s Leadership Conference (IWLC): Global Health Through Women’s Leadership has been published as a supplement to the March 2011 Journal of Dental Education. This conference took place in Salvador, Brazil in September 2010 and was attended by women leaders from six continents. The Fourth ADEA IWLC focused on recognition, promotion, and leadership in academic dentistry, dental research, and organized dentistry and had overarching themes of women’s leadership in education, research, and service. The conference included keynote presentations, working group sessions, oral and poster presentations, and skill building sessions.

"The Fourth ADEA IWLC afforded the opportunity for women leaders to focus on issues of commonality that contribute to the health and well-being of women and families," said ADEA President Sandra C. Andrieu. "This amazing gathering of women leaders from around the world promoted leadership, partnerships, and friendships that undergird global collaborations across dental education, research, and service in the future."
