Gies AwardsThe ADEAGies Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2011 William J. Gies Awards for Vision, Innovation, and Achievement (Gies Awards). The Gies Awards will be presented on March 14, 2011, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in conjunction with the 2011 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California.

The Gies Awards, named after dental education pioneer William J. Gies, Ph.D., honor individuals and organizations exemplifying dedication to the highest standards of vision, innovation, and achievement in dental education, research, and leadership.

The 2011 honorees were selected by the ADEAGies Foundation Board of Trustees. The winners in alphabetical order are:

"The ways this year's Gies Award winners demonstrated achievement, innovation, or vision truly stood out among a group of exceptional nominees," said Richard W. Valachovic, D.M.D., M.P.H., President of the ADEAGies Foundation and Executive Director of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA). "It is a privilege to recognize those who go above and beyond to serve, to educate, and to advance global oral health."
