faculty in Family Dentistry. Position available July 1, 2013; screening begins
immediately. Must have: D.D.S./D.M.D. from ADA-accredited dental school or
foreign equivalent, and at least five years dental practice experience via
private practice, military, or educational environment. Applicants w/o D.D.S./D.M.D.
from ADA-accredited dental school must have certificate in
Prosthodontics/AEGD/GPR from ADA-accredited program AND at least five years
verifiable clinical teaching experience w/pre-doctoral students in

C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of West Virginia University–Periodontics and the
West Virginia University School of Dentistry invites applications for a
full-time, 12-month, faculty position (tenure-track or clinical-track) at the
Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Periodontics.
Responsibilities include teaching didactic and clinical periodontics in
pre-doctoral and postdoctoral programs; establishment and maintenance of a
viable periodontic practice, high-quality research and/or scholarly activities
and service. Candidates must be eligible for a West Virginia dental license and
possess a specialty degree/certificate in periodontics from an accredited North
American specialty program. Desirable candidates would be a Diplomate of the
American Board of Periodontology or demonstrate the ability to attain diplomate
status. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in
didactic and clinical teaching, dental implantology, and new imaging
technologies. Candidate must demonstrate effective written, verbal, and
interpersonal communication skills, and strong commitment to diversity and
social justice. Rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials and
experience. Possibility exists for the future development of a post graduate
program in periodontics.
