The American Dental Association (ADA), in cooperation with Health Volunteers Overseas, is assisting dental faculty at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in developing programs to provide chair-side instruction and lectures to undergraduate and advanced dental education students, as well as continuing education for the faculty.

The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) is calling for nominations to fill vacancies for public members of its review committees. Public nominees should not have a formal or informal connection to dentistry, but they should have an interest in or knowledge of health-related accreditation issues.

The Crowne Plaza Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas, will host the ADEA Fall 2011 Meetings, including the Fourth ADEA Summit on Advanced Dental Education, from October 20-22, 2011. This year's opening plenary on Thursday afternoon will be given by Dr. Milton Chen, Senior Fellow and Executive Director Emeritus of The George Lucas Edcuational Foundation (GLEF), promising a lively question-and-answer session on modern innovations in education.
