Community Outreach Sees Success at Dugoni School of Dentistry

The University of Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry continues to reach out to the San Francisco community. This past May saw two successful events: the Student Community Outreach for Public Education's (SCOPE) Senior Smiles Health Fair, and the Kids in the Klinic Endowment Vino de Mayo wine auction and dinner.

Dugoni Faculty and Students Participate in International Mission Trips

In a change of scene from their busy lives as dental school students and educators, representatives from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry spent their spring break volunteering overseas. At sites in the Dominican Republic, Chile, and Fiji, 49 students, six faculty, and two alumni provided dental treatment to local residents during the last week of March.

In this economy, receiving high-quality and affordable health care is of concern to all. CommunityHealth, a volunteer-based, non-profit organization in Chicago, is a clinic actively seeking dental volunteers, including hygienists and assistants, to provide services.
