ADEA AADSAS Offers New Centralized Criminal Background Check Program

The ADEA AADSAS application service invites dental schools to participate in a new criminal background check (CBC) initiative. Following a model in use by the AAMC and the PharmCAS, ADEA AADSAS and Certiphi Screening, Inc., present dental schools with a streamlined and straightforward process to meet their university requirements.

ADEA Applauds Passage of Health Care Reform Legislation

Two years ago, ADEA entered the national debate on reforming the U.S. health care system.  On March 21, the U.S. House of Representatives approved health care reform legislation (H.R. 3590 and H.R. 4872) that will effect significant change in our health care system.

Capstone Meeting Focuses on Minority Dental Faculty

Dental school deans met February 26, 2010, at the ADEA/W.K. Kellogg Minority Dental Faculty Development (ADEA/WKKF MDFD) Capstone Meeting in Washington, DC. The Capstone Meeting featured keynote speaker Dr. Reed V. Tuckson, former President of the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science and current Executive Vice President at United Health Group.

In November 2009, the Journal of Dental Education reported the results of a survey of ADEA/AAL ITL participants: More than 99% of respondents had a positive or highly positive learning experience, and 96% stated the program was important or very important in their effectiveness as teachers.
