Penn Dental Medicine has been awarded a $650,000 grant from Delta Dental of Pennsylvania and its affiliates to expand the school’s community outreach efforts. The grant will support PennSmiles, the school’s long-standing oral health education and clinical care program for school children and their families in West and Southwest Philadelphia.
Students enrolled in the TWU Dental Hygiene program are going mobile thanks to a nearly $60,000 Teaching and Research Grant for Equipment and Technology (TARGET). The TARGET funds will enable TWU dental hygiene students to better serve the community and allow them to gain clinical skills and knowledge through enhanced interprofessional educational activities.
Chabot College Dental Hygiene Program in Hayward, CA, has partnered with UCSF SOD in a collaborative effort to advance clinical and interdisciplinary care. The combined efforts by Chabot College and the UCSF Oral Health Alliance translate pediatric dental discoveries into interdisciplinary compassionate care for improved prevention, detection and treatment for dental patients.
