Importance of the ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition When Budgets Are Tight

Right Time. Right Place. Right People.

The 2011 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition is one of the most cost-effective and efficient ways to help you grow as a dental educator and establish a priceless professional network. This year’s event will include:

  • Numerous educational sessions approved for Continuing Education units
  • More than 90 exhibit hall booths showcasing 65+ companies
  • Three nationally recognized speakers at plenary sessions, plus countless expert presenters
  • A community of nearly 2,000 colleagues with whom to network
  • Dozens of tips, tools, and solutions to challenges you face today

Let ADEA help you communicate to administrators the importance of your travel to and attendance at this valuable professional development event. Follow these steps:

Before the 2011 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition:

  1. Review the 2011 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition preliminary program (to be posted soon) and identify session topics with particular relevance for your institution and your position. Will an exhibitor showcase tools you use or are evaluating for potential use? Will an educational session immediately benefit you or your department? Does a session address a challenge that you face?
  2. Customize our draft letter to your chair or administrator. It summarizes the information you gathered in the previous steps.
  3. Meet with your chair or administrator to present your rationale for attending the 2011 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition.

During the 2011 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition:

  1. Network with fellow attendees and exhibitors to gain a better understanding of how to master the challenges facing dental education today. Ask about their experiences with tools, technologies, and processes—you’re likely to discover a lot of new information.
  2. Attend educational sessions and use the ADEA Annual Session Educational Session Summary Report Template for note taking.

After the 2011 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition:

  1. Share your notes with your chair or administrator and colleagues.
  2. Implement at least one new idea you learned.
  3. Contact one individual you added to your professional network as a result of attending the 2011 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition.

That’s it! In a few simple steps, you can gain buy-in for and valuable benefits from your attendance at the 2011 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition. We look forward to seeing you March 12-16 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, California.
