Before the ADEA Annual Session:
1. Review the 2010 ADEA Annual Session and Exhibition preliminary program (to be posted soon) and identify session topics with particular relevance for your institution and your position. Will an exhibitor showcase tools you use or are evaluating for potential use? Will an educational session immediately benefit you or your department? Does a session address a challenge that you face?
2. Customize our draft letter to your chair or administrator. It summarizes the information you gathered in the previous steps.
3. Meet with your chair or administrator to present your rationale for attending the 2010 ADEA Annual Session and Exhibition.
During the ADEA Annual Session:
1. Network with fellow attendees and exhibitors to gain a better understanding of how to master the challenges facing dental education today. Ask about their experiences with tools, technologies, and processes—you’re likely to discover a lot of new information.
2. Attend educational sessions and use the ADEA Annual Session Educational Session Summary Report Template for note taking.
After the ADEA Annual Session:
1. Share your notes with your chair or administrator and colleagues.
2. Log on to the ADEA Live Learning Center from www.adea.org and view the top 10 educational sessions to reinforce your learning.
3. Implement at least one new idea you learned.
4. Contact one individual you added to your professional network as a result of attending the 2010 ADEA Annual Session.
